Greetings from El Salvador! We are happy to report that rain is falling on growing corn here, students are finishing their first semester, and we’ve been happy to receive some great visits from sister communities so far this year.
We are excited to announce and ask for your help in spreading the word about two volunteer positions we are looking to fill this year, or starting early 2017.
The first is our usual Solidarity/Delegations volunteer position, responsible for planning for, accompanying, and evaluating visits from sister communities and other immersion groups as well as helping with communication between sister communities and accompaniment of FUNDAHMER projects in Morazán and La Libertad.
The second is a new position. We are looking for a volunteer to help us with some grantwriting and development work and to be a link between FACES, our sister organization in the U.S., and FUNDAHMER here in El Salvador. This person will split their time between accompaniment in the communities and office work as a support to FUNDAHMER’s grantwriting team.
Both of these positions are based in El Salvador. We are looking for folks who possess a spirit of slidarity with the poor, a dedication to international cooperation, and a commitment to simplicity. We prefer applicants who have graduated from college or who are 20 years of age or over. Advanced Spanish abilities are required, and some experience in Central America is preferred. Both volunteers will receive a small stipend for day-to-day needs and will work with FUNDAHMER to find appropriate accomodations.
Please find the position descriptions below, and please share with your contacts. Do not hesitate to write to Laurel Marshall, Coordinator of the Solidarity Program, at email@example.com with any questions or to connect potential candidates!
